Feel the impact of words and actions through real, lived experiences. Witness how presence, language, and choices shape others in ways we may not always see. Through story, empathy becomes something you can truly feel.

A Bit About Us
Lived Experiences Transformed To Art
Authentic Voices is not a traditional theatre production. It is a shared storytelling experience where real people bring their lived experiences to the stage through voice, reflection, humor, and music.
Rather than scripted performances, each gathering centers on personal stories that invite the audience into perspectives across race, culture, identity, and sexuality. These stories are not performed at you, but shared with you creating a space where people can listen, feel, and connect without shame or judgment.
Authentic Voices honors the many visible and invisible intersections that shape who we are. There are no lectures or prescribed lessons. Instead, the experience opens hearts, sparks reflection, and allows understanding to grow naturally through the power of story.
By simply sharing real experiences, Authentic Voices invites each person in the room to see through someone else’s eyes and, in doing so, find a deeper sense of connection and shared humanity.

Meet The Creatives

"I convey my own thanks for the performance and opening communication on so many different topics. I love how you powerfully and poignantly shared the themes of oneness and seeing our commonalities. I'm hoping this will be a springboard for more in-depth social justice programming at CBS.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU."

"In February 2014, I had the opportunity to bring Authentic Voices to my Sociology 30B: Intercultural Relations in Multicultural Societies class at UCD. The interactive experience provided my students with substance and a learning experience that fostered reflection and challenged their assumptions on race, gender, identity, and human diversity. I give my highest recommendation to this local performance/storytelling program. Authentic Voices seeks to bring diverse communities together, raise diversity awareness on campuses, and inform community members about multicultural topics.
These topics include: white privilege, racism, xenophobia, heterosexism, and social explanations explored through hegemony theory. When Authentic Voices gave a guest lecture/performance—my students were both didactically informed and magnificently mesmerized by the truthful exploration of identity, power, and change.
Authentic Voices, infuses humor, wit and honesty while presenting topics that are often difficult to discuss. Through dramatic reading and performance, I believe that Authentic Voices is a powerful learning tool for Student and Academic Boards, Coffeehouse events, Women’s’ Studies, Women’s Center Events, Multicultural Affairs, Art Gallery openings, Diversity Training, Orientation, and Classroom presentations."

"Authentic Voices tackles equality among all people in a way that is inclusive and relatable. It will make you exhale in relief knowing that there are other people out there who have experienced what you have. You will definitely laugh, you might even cry, but most of all, you will be ready to talk from the heart and inspired to make a difference. "
